If you still have the original hard drive configuration and/or Dell's 'Drivers and Utilities CD' then read the manual that gives you clear instructions on how to run diagnostics(I assume you have the Latitude D610): - In case you don't have the CD and the utility partition on the harddrive can't be found download the ISO-file and burn it to a cdrom. You'll need a (free) cdrom 'burner' software like CDBurnerXP (when running the program choose 'Burn ISO image' from the main menu) - After burning the cdrom reboot your system and press F12 at power up and highlight CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive when the boot device list appears. I have recently reformatted my hard drive completely(wiped everything including other partitions) and reinstalled windows therefore the partition is now gone. I know how to burn the iso file to a cd-rom, I was simply trying to download it and run it. I guess my question is, why is there 2 file types available for download (ie. Iso and.exe) if only 1 is of use? What is the use of the.exe file? Note: I have the dell utilities CD and so I will try running it from that.
